If the allocation for connectors and splices needs to be increased, then the distance will correspondingly be reduced. LH is intended for use with .23dB/km single mode fiber and hence, is considered to be a 70km transceiver.

Brocade does not "require" a mode conditioning cable, but recommends that users of MMF with LX be prepared to use one if necessary.
