Cara VR 2.1 Release notes

Global Warp tracking integration
This feature reduces the manual work necessary when using the C_GlobalWarp node on moving footage. Instead of manually animating the points defining a constraint, it’s now possible to track the constraint, using the same spherical tracking algorithms behind the C_Tracker. Two workflows have been introduced: the first allows you to track directly within Global Warp using a new panel with simplified tracking controls, making the process faster and easier. The second allows you to track with a C_Tracker: export a constraint as a set of points in a C_Tracker node, then, after having tracked, re-import them back in the C_GlobalWarp.

Vertical Aligner
The Vertical Aligner tool has been ported from Ocula, with some modifications to make it better suited for Cara VR workflows. It allows users to achieve a good stereo panorama without having to perform lengthy corrections post C_Stitcher. Unlike the Ocula version, the Cara VR Vertical Aligner can be used as attached directly to a Camera Solver, or by itself. It also consumes and produces Cara VR metadata that can then be used by the Stitcher to improve results. And because the Cara version is aware of spherical space, it provides better results when used on fisheye lenses.

Camera Solver and Camera Ingest
The Camera Solver now includes experimental solver layouts to handle more generic camera setups, including planar, linear, and free arrangements. The experimental layouts, along side the spherical and nodal arrangements, provide more options when solving custom rig layouts. The new Camera Ingest node allows users to import cameras from other packages so they can be used with Cara VR’s Camera Solver, allowing for a more user-friendly animation of the camera parameters.
