Our approach to AI in the hiring process

See our guidelines on the use of AI for interview preparation and candidate tasks

Careers AI

We are supportive of candidates using AI tools for research, brainstorming, and refining their work. This approach empowers applicants to prioritise problem-solving and strategic clarity during the application process.

At the same time, we emphasise human accountability and confidentiality. While technology can assist, our final assessment is based on each individual’s unique expertise and their ability to personally validate and own their work.

Careers AI allowed
  • Research and preparation: Learn about the company, role, or general technical concepts.
  • Idea generation and structure: Develop initial ideas and explore alternative approaches for interviews and/or take-home tasks.
  • Take-home tasks: Use AI to generate code and/or contents - which, if used, must be fully understood and integrated by you.
  • Refine content: Correct grammar, adjust tone, or polish clarity in your written responses.
Careers AI not allowed
  • Real time problem-solving: No use of AI assistance is permitted during any timed or live problem-solving exercise or during a remote interview (unless required for accessibility related reasons to be discussed with us in advance).
  • Generating full solutions: Do not submit a task that is entirely or overwhelmingly produced by an AI without substantial modification, original thought and input from you.
  • Accountability: You must verify your work and are fully accountable for the accuracy of all facts, figures, and technical details in any submission.
  • Confidentiality: Please do not compromise Foundry’s confidentiality by inputting any confidential details of a task or assessment into public AI models, or sharing the task with any other person or on any platform.
