London, September 28 2023 – Foundry, the leading developer of creative software for the Media and Entertainment industry, announced today that eligible students are now able to access student licenses almost instantaneously using a new verification system provided by Proxi.id, a global leader in academic verification.

Foundry’s Education Collective package includes Nuke, Katana, Mari and Modo, and it is free of charge for students enrolled in a program at one of Foundry’s Education Partners. Students studying at an education institution without active classroom licenses can still purchase Foundry's Education Collective for the newly discounted price of $99/€89/£79.

With the integration of this verification system, Foundry is taking a significant step towards simplifying and expediting the student status confirmation process. This will give quicker access to our comprehensive software suite, equipping the next generation of creative minds with industry-standard tools.

Students who have completed a full-time course in the last six months are eligible to upgrade their free or paid student license to a graduate license: allowing commercial use of Nuke, Katana, Mari and Modo for a year following completion of their program. After a year, they have the option to upgrade to a one-year commercial subscription at 70 percent off.

"This is great news for our students,”says Fortunato Frattasio, Learning & Development Manager at Campus d'Effets Visuels, Montréal.”This will allow them to access Foundry’s fantastic tools faster and at a more affordable price. As an Instructor and VFX Artist, I believe that being part of a strong academic program and having access to high quality material is only part of what it takes to become a truly good artist. In order for students to really immerse themselves and to gain a deep understanding of their craft, they need to practise, practise, and practise. This new resource from Foundry can really help a student grow from a good VFX artist to an excellent one."

"This marks a pivotal moment in our ongoing commitment to empower emerging artists,” says Kalen Arnold, Senior Business Development Manager for Education at Foundry. “Foundry continues its dedication to accessibility and excellence in the educational and creative communities through advancements like Proxi.id and affordable pricing, empowering a new wave of creators with the tools they need to bring their visions to life.”
